HOW TO SAVE AN OVERWATERED PLANT

HOW TO SAVE AN OVERWATERED PLANT

Most of our plants die from us giving them "too much love". By trying to be good “Plant Parents”, we end up overwatering them.

It can also happen when we water properly but forgot to check the weather for the next few days. It can be fatal for our plants if by chance a cloudy week comes.

When the roots stay wet for too many days, most of our plants start to rot and the leaves turn pale, yellow, and droopy.

If your plant shows these symptoms and the potting soil is damp (having been watered for several days now), you're on a rescue mission! We'll give you some tips.

What you can do to save your overwatered plant:

1. Remove the plant from its plastic pot, place the root ball on a caring mat with newspaper, and leave it overnight for the potting soil to dry;

2. Refresh the potting soil if it's time to repot. You can remove the wet potting soil and add a new one as our Soil Freshener;

3. Ensure good drainage by repotting the plant in a pot with drainage holes;

4. Let the plant recover, not watering the following days and letting the potting soil dry completely;

5. Adjust waterings and remember that all plants have different needs and the time of year and the conditions they are in will influence the periods between waterings. Do not water routinely. You should always get your finger dirty to know if it's time to water.
